‘Nashville’ Adds Joseph David-Jones & Cameron Scoggins As Recurring For Season 5
Joseph David-Jones (Allegiant, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and Cameron Scoggins (Hunter & Game) have been cast as recurrings on CMT’s upcoming fifth season of country music drama Nashville.
David-Jones will play Clay, a musician in his mid-20s who is destined for great things. He is a creative, self-aware, highly motivated young man who suffers intense mood swings but nonetheless is charming and outgoing. His musical style is eclectic, with modern elements but also nods to African-American roots music, bluegrass and even classic country. Scoggins is Zach Welles, a young Silicon Valley billionaire and huge Rayne Jaymes fan. Boyish, ebullient and personable, Zach is a nerd who made good, and though still a nerd, he has the confidence and self-image of someone who isn’t.
David-Jones’ was selected for his Nashville role as the result of a nationwide search that included auditions in NY, LA, Nashville, along with an online component. He co-stars in Lionsgate’s Allegiant opposite Shailene Woodley and is one of the new cast members on The CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. He’s repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and attorney Lev Ginsburg.
Scoggins next will be seen as Ray Liotta’s son on NBC’s Shades of Blue. Other TV credits include Z, The Blacklist, The Black Box, Person Of Interest, Elementary and The Good Wife. He’s repped by the Gersh Agency and Perennial Entertainment.
Produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment, Nashville makes its Season 5 debut on CMT with a special two-hour premiere on Thursday, January 5. The series is executive produced by Marshall Herskovitz, Ed Zwick, Steve Buchanan and Callie Khouri. Jayson Dinsmore and Morgan Selzer executive produce for CMT.
