Is Na Ying banned by Hunan TV?

8 Dec - A Hunan Satellite TV's variety show has set tongues wagging as to whether Chinese songstress Na Ying has been banned by the broadcaster.

As reported on Oriental Daily, in the recent episode of the show "Infinity and Beyond", the show introduced several teachers including Gu Jianfen, who is revealed to be Na Ying's teacher.

When the programme revealed a photo of Gu with his students, netizens noticed that Na Ying was cut out of the group photo, and was not mentioned at all when the list of Gu's students were revealed despite the fact that she is one of the top singers in China.

In addition, when the programme showed a duet between Na Ying and Faye Wong, all the shots were focused on the latter instead, fuelling further speculations that Na Ying was banned.

On the other hand, netizens also pointed out that there has been no news of Na Ying for a long time, with the last one being in July.

It is noted that Na Ying was embroiled in the scandal concerning the show "Voice of China", after several allegations arose regarding her sister, Na Xin, who produced the show in the past. One of the singers, Ocean Hai, alleged that both Na Xin and Na Ying abused their power on the show, and called for an investigation against the two siblings.
