Mustapha Kamal not very keen on kids joining showbiz

15 Nov - Mustapha Kamal recently admitted that he is not very keen on letting his kids join showbiz, despite him and wife Susan Menon being part of the industry.

The actor said as much after he was asked about 19-year-old daughter Salsabil Qurani, who not only inherited his talent in acting, but also attracted attention for her likeness to social media influencer and reality show star Kylie Jenner.

"In truth, as an artiste, I do not want my kids to follow in our footsteps. But I see that Salsabil has interest and inclination in this. I don't want to be a hindrance, but I have lots of experience and I know the ins and outs of the industry, being part of it for more than 35 years," he said.

In saying that, Mustapha stated that he will make sure to pick and choose the right projects for his daughter.

"I will have to decline if the offer doesn't suit Salsabil's age. Maybe something better in the future," he added.

At the same time, Mustapha said that his daughter is no stranger to acting, having been part of the Filipino production of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo's "I Miss You Like Crazy" when she was a child. She has also begun acting seriously after high school, starring in several dramas including "Cinta Yang Tertangguh".
