These are the stories making headlines in fashion on Monday.

New York legislature passes Fashion Workers Act
The Fashion Workers Act passed the New York Senate and the Assembly late last week. The bill will provide workplace protections for models including mandatory meal breaks and overtime pay for jobs lasting more than eight hours. It also requires modeling agencies to enact zero-tolerance policies for sexual and financial abuse, capping agency commissions at 20% of a model's earnings and requiring them to provide models with copies of financial agreements at least 24 hours before a shoot. Models can also bring chaperones to castings under the act. Joey Hunter, co-president of Ford Models, does not believe the act is fair to agencies whose input was not requested in the writing of the bill. The act is still awaiting signature by Gov. Hochul. {The Daily Beast}

Small beauty brands' logistical struggle
As small beauty brands grow, entrepreneurs struggle to find reliable logistics providers. Ingredient vendors and manufacturers often prioritize large-volume clients, leaving small brands without suppliers that meet their standards of sustainability and transparency. These challenges only increase as brands grow and require additional support from their already sub-par providers. Entrepreneurs rely on each other for legitimate recommendations as to avoid low-quality products and scam offers. {Beauty Independent}

Jeanne Damas on playing Paloma Picasso
Rouje founder Jeanne Damas plays Paloma Picasso in the newly released Disney+ series "Becoming Karl Lagerfeld." She originally declined the role. However, she quickly changed her mind when she found herself enamored with Picasso and the turbulent landscape of 1970s fashion. Damas says the role was "nourishing for her creativity." She and Vogue reporter Alice Newbold discussed the project last week in Scotland. {Vogue}
