The Royal Family are notoriously private when it comes to their children.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in particular, keep Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis out of the public eye and we only see them at some annual events, such as Trooping the Colour or through official photographs.

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex get ready to welcome their first child in April, will they follow Kate and William’s example?

She says: “The idea about royal protocol and royal etiquette and royal privacy is not the same as the expectation of celebrity and Meghan, to some extent, is in that process of trying to find a process of transition between the celebrity and the royal.

“She’s got celebrity friends, her instincts would be perhaps to take the baby to New York and show it off to friends, maybe push against what the royals and the firm and those around her might advise and expect.”

But The Sunday Times royal correspondent, Roya Nikkhah thinks that one of their reasons for moving to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor is to be out of the media spotlight.

She says: “They’re not going to be in the goldfish bowl of Kensington Palace, it will be much harder to photograph them.

“Harry does has a very high level of expectancy – any crossing of red lines with taking photos of his child or invading their privacy, he will come down like a ton of bricks on.”
