Mr. Malcolm's List is a refreshing new period drama, which follows London’s most eligible bachelor, Mr. Malcolm (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù), as he searches for a wife. When Julia Thistlewaite (Zawe Ashton) feels jilted by Mr. Malcolm, she convinces her friend Selina Dalton (Freida Pinto) to trick seduce him—and make him feel how she felt. The film also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Julia's cousin Lord Cassidy, Ashley Park as Selena's relative Gertie Covington, and Theo James as Captain Henry Ossory.

“Because of this contemporary edge, you can understand that a woman who’s starting to feel closed in on by society because of not living up to the expectations in place at that time would be driven to do desperate things,” Ashton tells Town & Country of the film. “That hasn’t changed, for sure. I also feel like the representational casting in this really added layers to that journey. Thinking about the fear of being othered and what that means, the fear of not assimilating accordingly, is something I could really plug into. They’re all striving to present this façade to the world so that they can fit in, which is really what we all want, isn’t it?”

After a run in theaters earlier this year, the film is finally available to view from the comfort of your own home:
