Monica Chan declines to respond to past slapping incident

18 Sep - Former beauty queen Monica Chan has nothing to say when it comes to rumours that she was the person who Wong Jing claimed to have been slapped by another actress during an incident that occurred in the past.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the filmmaker recently shared another headline-grabbing story on his YouTube channel, saying that he encountered a somewhat embarrassing incident in the past while filming a TV series with two female protagonists.

Wong claimed that he gave one of the roles to an actress that he had dated before in order to help her, but that the actress misunderstood his kindness for reconciliation, and ended up getting jealous when he seemed to favour the other female lead.

"One day, she lost her temper and slapped the actress in the face. Everybody there was dumbfounded," he said.

Wong's story had since sparked a heated discussion, with many claiming that Monica Chan was the actress who was slapped, and Rachel Lee was the one who did the slapping. The two worked together in the 2000's series, "A Dream Named Desire".

However, when asked about it recently, Monica responded, "Wong didn't mention any names, so there is no need to talk about this matter. There is nothing to add. If we talk about it, we will be talking about it over and over again. It has been many years since the incident. If I respond to it, it will just go on and on."

Meanwhile, Rachel, who was also asked about the rumour earlier, stated that she had never dated Wong Jing and didn't know what incident they were talking about.

"If I had dated him, I would have filmed more than one or two movies with him, right? Please stop talking nonsense," she said.
