Fifteen-year-old Alexis Boroviak has been found safe in Missouri after she was missing for nearly a month.

In an interview with TMZ, the girl’s stepfather Britton Ramsey said he believes a photo with Nicolas Cage is partially responsible for returning his stepdaughter home safely to Ohio.

Boroviak went missing on Nov. 8. Police believe she left her home with 41-year-old Christopher David Schroeder, who then kept her at his home in Missouri against her will. Schroeder has been charged with federal child exploitation.

While Boroviak was still missing, her family visited Cage, who was in Lorain County, Ohio filming Dog Eat Dog with Willem Dafoe at the time. Cage posed for a photo with Ramsey and a missing poster with two photos of Boroviak. The photo went viral.

Officials say that Boroviak met Schroeder on the social network Kik; in one of their chats, she told him she was only 15. Apparently she’d told Schroeder she was unhappy at home and he offered to pick her up in his car. After she got into the car with him, police say he made her take the SIM card out of her phone and destroy it.

Boroviak was found after police discovered a fake Facebook page which lead them to Schroeder’s home in Marthasville, Missouri, a small town west of St. Louis.

On Wednesday, Ramsey added a photo to his Facebook of Boroviak holding a sign that reads, “FOUND” in giant green letters.

Speaking with TMZ, Ramsey said that he’d not spoken to Cage since the photo was taken, but that he wanted to buy the Academy Award winner a beer.
