Miss Macau 2017 defends Juliette Louie
19 Sep - Sofia Paiva, the reigning Miss Macau recently defended Miss Hong Kong 2017 Juliette Louie over the criticism about her looks and her lack of proficiency in the Chinese language.
According to Mingpao, although netizens have been comparing the two, especially since they both studied overseas, many loved and expressed awe with the Chinese-Portuguese beauty for her good looks and her communication skill compared to the outspoken Louie.
Asked about the comparison recently, Paiva stated that she posed no superiority over Louie.
"I read her interviews, and she seemed like a great person. I do think she is working hard on her Chinese proficiency. It is best not to compare. We all represent different areas," she said.
However, Pavia admitted that she would try to improve herself after reading the online comments if she was in Louie's place.
Standing tall at 170cm, Pavia is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology from the St. Joseph University.
