Miramax's 'Halloween' TV Series Will Be a "Creative Reset"

Miramax Television's upcoming Halloween series promises to be a "creative reset" of the long-running franchise.

According to Deadline, the production company's Head Of Worldwide Television, Marc Helwig, stated that the Miramax and Trancas project is "on a fast track" and "a big priority" as it will hopefully launch a new cinematic universe both in film and television. "We’ve had lots of exciting conversations in recent months with a number of really talented people, and I think we’ll have a pretty good idea of what we’re going to be doing very soon,” he said. “We’re hoping to lock down the creative team very soon.”

Helwig continued to state that the Halloween series is a "big world," and that they will not pick up where the recent Halloween Ends trilogy left off. “The foundation of it is the original film, the John Carpenter movie, the characters of that film, and perhaps a group of characters that we haven’t really focused on that much in recent film versions or even in a number of them,” he shared. “It’s a creative reset completely and going back to the original film, as opposed to spinning out of any of the more recent film adaptations.”
