Miley Cyrus and Fantasia Barrino Channel Tina Turner in Fringe and More Onstage Looks at the 2024 Grammys

Miley Cyrus channeled icons like Cher and Tina Turner on Sunday night, wearing Bob Mackie at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Cyrus, who received her first-ever Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, performed her 2023 hit “Flowers” in a silver frock from the designer’s 2002 “To Broadway With Love” collection.

The design evoked multiple Mackie looks worn by Turner in the 1970s. The legendary rock singer passed away last year following a battle with kidney disease. The decade of disco marked a major turning point for the singer, who reinvented her image following her split from husband and former musical partner Ike Turner.

During the ceremony, “The Color Purple” star Fantasia Barrino also paid tribute to Turner, singing “Proud Mary” in a hand-beaded gold bodysuit by Matopeda.

Barrino and Cyrus weren’t the only stars who continued their stylish streak following the red carpet. Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish tried out trends including fringe, sparkles and shades of red while performing and presenting.

SZA may have skipped the red carpet, but she made a fashionable entrance on stage while accepting her first award of the night, Best R&B Song, in a custom crystallized gown by Vietnamese designer Do Long. Inspired by the Venus de Milo, SZA’s floor-length frock also featured a wrap skirt silhouette. The singer was styled by Alejandra LaPilusa.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa took to the stage to perform a medley of her latest singles including “Houdini” wearing a custom bondage-inspired ensemble by Mugler. Her leather leotard, worn over a mesh catsuit, featured fringe adorned with buckles and straps. Lipa’s longtime stylist Lorenzo Posocco curated her look.

Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter looked all grown up in custom Vivienne Westwood couture. Her iridescent corseted mididress was styled with white platform boots. She stood alongside her father, Jay Z, who received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo performed her hit track “Vampire” in a satin blood-red gown from Naeem Khan’s pre-fall 2024 collection. The “Sour” singer was styled by Danielle Goldberg.

Billie Eilish

While performing her Grammy-winning track “What Was I Made For?,” Eilish took a hint from “Barbie” star Margot Robbie by channeling Mattel’s iconic doll. With help from Robbie’s stylist Andrew Mukamal, Eilish sported a custom pink and green ensemble inspired by 1965’s “Poodle Parade” Barbie.

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep appeared alongside her son-in-law, producer Mark Ronson, to present the award for Record of the Year. The Oscar-winning actress sparkled in a sequined Valentino pantsuit featuring feathered trim. Streep accessorized with a pair of metallic pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

The 2024 Grammys, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrated the biggest artists, albums and songs of the year. Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, the 66th annual ceremony featured performances from Billie Eilish, SZA, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo, among others. The Recording Academy presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to Donna Summer, N.W.A., Tammy Wynette and Gladys Knight.
