Mickey Huang is sentenced to eight-month prison in child pornography case
4 Dec - Mickey Huang has been sentenced to eight months of prison time for possession and promotion of child pornography.
The ruling was made by the Taipei District Court on 3 November after a trial, which included a fine of NTD 100,000.
It is noted that Mickey had pleaded not guilty to possessing 2,259 sexual images of 35 children.
In a statement released by the Taipei District Court on their website, it stated, "The defendant still denied the crime during the preparatory procedures and trials of this court, and it was difficult to believe that he had any intention of repenting. After this court considered the above circumstances and the circumstances of the entire case, believes that there is no appropriate situation in this case to temporarily suspend the execution of the defendant's sentence, and refuses to declare a suspended sentence."
The court said the TV personality's fine can be paid off through community service at NT$1,000 per day. The fine and prison sentence can be appealed.
