Michiko Tanaka is married to footballer Kengo Kawamata

24 Apr - Michiko Tanaka recently announced that she is now married to footballer Kengo Kawamata.

Sharing the good news on social media, the "Dr. Chocolate" actress expressed, "I think some of you have seen it on the news, but I have entered [into marriage] with Mr. Kawamata. We will show respect and support for one another. My work will continue as always."

"I'd appreciate if you will bless us," she added.

Fans and friends alike took to the comments to congratulate her, including TV personality Mika Sugisaki, who expressed, "Wow. Congratulations Miss Tanaka."

Kengo also shared similar announcement online, writing, "I will be more and more dedicated from now on. Thank you for your continued support."

According to multiple sources, Michiko, who was from Shizuoka, has always loved football. She became close to Kengo when he joined the Iwata team in 2017 before the friendship developed into a real relationship.
