Michelin reveals new stars for Singapore 2018

Michelin guide Singapore

Five new restaurants have unlocked their first Michelin star in the 2018 Singapore Michelin guide.

In the third edition of the red restaurant guide for Singapore, inspectors expanded the group of one-starred restaurants to 34, after bestowing new stars to Cantonese restaurant Jiang-Nan Chun; French restaurant Ma Cuisine; seasonal restaurant Nouri; Australian barbecue eatery Burnt Ends; and Japanese destination Sushi Kimura.

Singapore has yet to land a three Michelin-starred restaurant.

A single star denotes a very good restaurant in its category; two stars denote excellent cooking, worth a detour, and three stars represent exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.

The two-starred club remains unchanged with five addresses (Odette, Waku Ghin, Shoukouwa, Les Amis and Shisen Hanten).

Earlier this week, Michelin announced that 17 new eateries were added to their Bib Gourmand selection, which represents good-value eats priced at a maximum of SGD $45 (US $33).
