Lex Luthor is about to join the MCU.

At least, ‘Smallville’ actor Michael Rosenbaum is on board.

During an interview with The Adam Corolla Show, the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ director James Gunn revealed that Michael Rosenbaum has snagged a role in the upcoming Marvel movie.

“We do have a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe who are going to make their debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which people don’t know about,” he revealed. “Sylvester Stallone plays one of these characters. My friend Michael Rosenbaum also has a pretty decent role in the movie as well, and it sort of works in tandem with Sly’s character.”

Of course, Michael Rosenbaum is best known for the role of a young Lex Luthor in the hit television show, ‘Smallville’ but he’s also loaned his voice to a huge number of animated DC projects, including ‘Teen Titans’, ‘Justice League Unlimited’ and even ‘Batman Beyond’.

But who will he be playing in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’?

At the moment, we have no idea. There’s a subtle hint in the fact that Rosenbaum’s character works ‘in tandem’ with that of Sylvester Stallone.

But quite what that means remains to be seen.

After all, we’ve known of Stallone’s involvement for quite some time, but we still have no idea which character he’ll be playing. So for the time being, all we know is that they could be playing a classic comic book duo.

But it’s got me stumped.

Still, Rosenbaum is an excellent actor, and I can’t wait to see how he fits in with the rest of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ cast. Just don’t get him talking about Kryptonite, okay?

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan.

James Gunn directed the film based on his own script.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ heads to cinemas on 28 April 2017.
