Michael Ning continues to do stage plays

24 Apr - Life remains the same for actor Michael Ning ever since winning Best New Performer and Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards this year, as he admitted that his salary doesn't change that much and that he continues to do stage plays instead of starring in more movies.

As reported on Mingpao News, the actor, who attended the celebratory event for his movie "Port of Call" recently, stated that he is currently busy rehearsing for a play that also co-stars Cantopop duo, Shine.

He will also begin working on another play in June alongside Ivana Wong – another star who won both Best New Performer and Best Supporting award last year.

"I am a stage actor after all, so it's hard to give up the stage," he said.

It was previously reported that actress Carina Lau was in awe with Michael's performance in the movie. When asked if he would like to work with the actress in the future, Michael responded, "If there's a chance, of course I would."

"I am quite surprised [with Carina Lau's compliments] because she is an amazing actress and a stage royalty. I think I would be intimidated by her," he said.

When asked if he would be starring in a new film soon, Michael said that he is happy to be working with Bob Lam and Louis Cheung in the upcoming film, "Z For Zombies".
