It seems that Solo is destined to continue to surprise us. First it flopped at the box office, then fans campaigned for a sequel, now we’re getting new details on Michael K Williams’ cut take on Dryden Vos, and, we need to warn you, his comments are not exactly safe for work.

According to the actor, in a revealing interview with The Daily Beast, his take on the character was part of a love triangle with Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke) and Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), describing the dynamic as, “He was like, ‘She wasn’t sucking d*** like that when she was with you. When she sucking that d***, I taught her that.’ That was my [character’s] thing.”

Now, Williams may be speaking metaphorically there, but it’s still a pretty forthright way to describe a motion capture character who’s half-mountain lion, half-human. According to Williams, “he left no meat on the bones” he chewed the scenery so much.

Williams was cast by original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller to play a motion-capture character named Dryden Vos. As you’ll know by now, Lord and Miller were taken off the production late into shooting, with Ron Howard taking over.

Howard decided he wanted to radically change Williams’ performance, but Williams had scheduling conflicts, so Howard’s former collaborator Paul Bettany was brought in.

The character lost the alien element, to save time on the special effects that would be required to swap out the actor at that late stage.

But why did Howard want to transform Williams’ take on Vos? Possibly because it sounds like the most adult character in Star Wars history.

Still, the actor remains optimistic that another opportunity will present itself. “I’ll wait my time. There will be another spaceship.”
