Metallics Were Trending at the 2024 Golden Globes: Taylor Swift, Julia Garner and More Stars Who Shined

Metallics, as seen on the runways of Valentino, Fendi and Jean Paul Gaultier, have officially made their way into 2024, as seen at the Golden Globes on Sunday on Taylor Swift, Julia Garner and Issa Rae.

Ahead, WWD recaps the top metallic looks at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

Taylor Swift

Swift donned a green sequined column gown by Gucci. Christian Louboutin heels and diamond earrings by De Beers finished the singer’s look. Swift’s longtime stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, dressed her for the occasion.

Julia Garner

Garner glittered in a plunging Gucci gown covered in silver sequins, accessorizing with jewelry by Monica Vinader and Santoni shoes. Garner sought the stylings of Elizabeth Saltzman, who also dresses stars like Saoirse Ronan, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts wore a beaded one-shoulder gown by Fendi, which debuted on the runway during the Italian label’s fall 2023 couture presentation. Harry Winston jewelry, a Tyler Ellis clutch and Jimmy Choo heels completed her ensemble. Watts was assisted by stylist Jeanann Williams.

Issa Rae

Rae sported a sequined orange gown by Pamella Roland, which came from the label’s spring 2024 collection. The actress accessorized with Noudar jewelry and a Tyler Ellis clutch. Rae was styled by Wouri Vice, who also dresses stars like Andra Day and H.E.R.

Elizabeth Debicki

Elizabeth Debicki opted for a Dior Haute Couture dress from the label’s fall 2023 collection. She added on jewels by the French label, which included layered necklaces and a tennis bracelet. Aquazzura shoes completed Debicki’s ensemble. “The Crown” star was also styled by Saltzman.

The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, celebrated the biggest achievements across film and television in 2023. They were produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by WWD’s parent company, Penske Media Corp. Ahead of the ceremony, WWD hosted its first real-time red carpet digital show, cohosted by Jeannie Mai, highlighting the looks from the red carpet arrivals. On Monday, WWD revealed the winners of its Style Awards during the red carpet recap on wwd.com/golden-globes.
