Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried Reunited at the 2024 Golden Globes

Whatever happens at the 2024 Golden Globes tonight doesn't matter, because Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried, the stars of 2008's hit movie musical film Mamma Mia! (and the sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), reunited on the red carpet before the show began.

Seyfried, wearing a black velvet Giorgio Armani Privé dress and Pomellato jewelry, looked in awe at Streep, who was in a Valentino outfit and Fred Leighton jewels, as they embraced.

Streep and Seyfried famously played the mother-daughter duo Donna and Sophie in the ABBA jukebox musicals, and both actresses have expressed their interest in returning for a third Mamma Mia film.

"I’m up for anything," Streep said September 2023. "I’ll have to schedule a knee scoping before we film, but if there’s an idea that excites me, I’m totally there. I told Judy if she could figure out a way to reincarnate Donna, I’m into that. Or it could be like in one of those soap operas where Donna comes back and reveals it was really her twin sister that died."

Seyfried, meanwhile said, "Listen, every single person in that movie would say yes in a heartbeat because we want to hang out with each other. That’s what we talked about last time, like did we ever think that we’d end up here again on an Island in Croatia? So yeah, I wish there was a Mamma Mia 3."

While nothing is official yet, we're crossing our fingers. Meanwhile, the first two movies are streaming on Netflix now, so we know what we're watching after the Golden Globes. Or should we turn it on now?
