Melania Trump Pairs Sky-High Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps and Eric Javits Hat With Her Adam Lippes Coat for Inauguration Day
Manolo Blahnik stuck with her tried-and-true Manolo Blahnik BB pumps for the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States on Monday in Washington, D.C.
Seen arriving at St. John’s Church just before 9 a.m., the incoming first lady paired the 105-milimeter black stiletto pumps with a black coat by New York designer Adam Lippes and hat by Eric Javits, another American designer. Trump completed the look with black leather gloves during a frigid morning in the nation’s capital.

While the former and future first lady wore a number of different ready-to-wear designers on the campaign trail and throughout inauguration weekend, she has stayed loyal to her two favorite shoe names, Blahnik and Christian Louboutin.
On Sunday evening, she wore Blahnik to a candlelight dinner, pairing her pumps with a YSL cape and Carolina Herrera skirt. Earlier in the day, she chose Louboutin knee-high boots for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Ceremony.
Back in 2017, Melania also chose Blahnik for inauguration day, pairing light blue suede pumps with a light blue Ralph Lauren dress. The former model’s look on inauguration night featured Blahnik taupe-colored suede pumps, paired with a Hervé Pierre gown.
After attending Monday’s church service, the Trumps headed to the White House for tea with outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
Fashion insiders are closely analyzing brands’ relationship with the first and second families. During Trump’s first term, many labels declined to dress Melania. But the tone could already be shifting. On Sunday, Oscar de la Renta posted photos of first daughter Ivanka Trump and incoming first lady Isha Vance wearing designer’s looks.
