The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to have charmed the world on their royal tour of Australia.

From Prince Harry holding hands with his 98-year-old super fan to the little boy, who gave him a huge cuddle and rubbed his beard, they’re connecting with the public on a whole new level.

There’s also been nothing short of public displays of affection from Meghan and Harry, who announced they’re expecting their first child, as they touched down in Sydney last week.

“Every single image that’s coming out is a positive image,” PR expert Nick Ede tells Yahoo UK’s The Royal Box.

“It’s showing a whole new side to the Royal Family that’s compassionate and loving.”

Royal historian Ted Powell says: “They’re making up their own protocol, it’s a completely new style of royal tour.”

A key part of the couple’s overseas trip is the Invictus Games. The adaptive multi-sport event for wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel was set up by Prince Harry in 2014.

Sydney plays host to the 2018 Games and the Duke gave a passionate speech at the Opening Ceremony last weekend.

Ede adds: “We have had these small isolated moments and then the big ones with the Invictus Games, which is something which is so powerful and is going to really change people’s lives in such a positive way.

“Prince Harry has put his heart and soul into this and it really shows.”
