Meghan Markle Goes Minimalist in Black Carolina Herrera Maxiskirt at the Premiere of ‘Bob Marley: One Love’

Meghan Markle went minimalist on Tuesday night while attending the premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love” in Kingston, Jamaica.

Joined by her husband, Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex paired a black bodysuit with a taffeta Carolina Herrera maxiskirt. Markle accessorized with a Jimmy Choo box clutch and gold jewelry including Jennifer Meyer statement earrings and a Cartier Love bangle. She also opted for understated hair and makeup, sporting a sleek updo, light blush and nude lips.

Harry, meanwhile, wore a navy suit over a white shirt, leaving the collar unbuttoned to reveal a pendant necklace. He completed his look with a pair of black leather Oxfords.

Following last year’s obsession with quiet luxury, minimalism is particularly trendy this season, with labels like Chloé, Prada and Jil Sander sending simplistic, often monochrome designs down the runway.

Markle has frequently partaken in the fad, sporting pared-down looks by Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and L’Agence in recent months. While appearing at the Invictus Games last September, the duchess even caused J.Crew’s website to crash after she was spotted wearing a cardigan from the popular preppy brand.

“Bob Marley: One Love” is a biopic of the reggae legend starring Kingsley Ben-Adir, Lashana Lynch and James Norton. Directed by “King Richard” helmer Reinaldo Marcus Green, the film debuts in theaters next month.

The Sussexes have also gotten into the film business, signing a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020. After releasing their autobiographical docuseries series “Harry & Meghan,” they debuted “Heart of Invictus,” another docuseries following competitors at the annual Invictus Games, a sporting event that Prince Harry founded for wounded and injured servicemen and women in 2014. The couple’s deal with the streamer extends through 2025.
