While everyone else was begging to get invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding, her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., was reportedly just trying to cash in on his daughter's newfound global fame, and now "a source close to the Duchess" just said Thomas faked that alleged heart attack he had right before the wedding.
As you may recall, before the royal wedding in May, her estranged dad was seen out and about with picture books to appear to be learning about Britain, and he was also seen buying British tea because why not? Well, turns out, those photos were staged and Thomas was trying to fool us all for some extra pocket money.
OK, but how does this relate to his heart attack? Well, apparently that anonymous source told the Daily Mail that her dad was so embarrassed when everyone found out those photos were staged, he faked a heart attack to get out of going to her wedding!
Even though there were probably about 17 steps he could've taken to get out of attending the wedding, like just don't RSVP, Thomas skipped straight to the life-threatening emergency excuse.
The source said:
"The poor health story was his way of generating some compassion from the public, and taking the attention off those staged photos which were a complete embarrassment to Meghan and the royal family."
The source also brought up a good point and said, "He brought this upon himself and if he were truly sick Meghan would have made an effort to visit him. Don't feel sorry for him. If anything, feel sorry for Meghan."
And to confirm what the source was saying, the Daily Mail said they reached out to the hospital Thomas allegedly checked in at, and the hospital said no one with that name had ever checked into the hospital.
This news comes on the heels of Meghan's half-sister, Samantha Grant, calling her out in a big ol' Twitter rant. Samantha wrote, If our father dies I'm holding you responsible, Meg!"
