Meg Lam shaves head to encourage friend with cancer
30 Jan – Veteran actress Meg Lam surprised many when she appeared bald at a charity run recently.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media about her new look, shared that she shaved her head to show support for her friend who is currently battling cancer.
"She lost a lot of hair due to chemotherapy, and felt very sad about it. So to cheer her on, our other friends and I decided to shave our head in unity," she said.
Meg also reminded everybody that she is no stranger to sporting such a look, having shaved her head before for her 1975 movie, "Bald-Headed Betty".
"I was a pioneer during that time. I never thought that I would do it again 40 years later," she said.
