Meerqeen finally explains the Bali controversy

9 Sep - Meerqeen finally broke his silence over previous "Bali controversy", which sparked after social media influencer Ameera Khan denied being on a holiday with him on the island back in July.

The actor, who spoke to the media at the press event for his new drama, "Uncle Bos Mama", stated that it was actually a funny story, as he was never in Bali in the first place like netizens speculated.

"I was actually on set of my new drama, and coincidentally, the production team was arranging the props to make it look like we were in Bali. So, I thought, why not I just share the photo and said that I was in Bali," he said.

Meerqeen said that he didn't realise that Ameera was also sharing photos of her being in Bali, stressing that he didn't even know the model was on holiday there.

"I wasn't trying to start anything. But when people linked those two things together, I was like, 'What?'. It seems like anything I do would turn into some kind of rumour, so I don't really care about what people say," he added.

Asked what acting project the Bali set was for, Meerqeen said, "It was for this drama. Uncle Bos Mama."

It was back in July that Ameera took to Instagram Story to respond to some netizens speculating about her relationship with Meerqeen, after she shared photos of her in Bali. The social media influencer also added that she was only there with her cousin Aisha, her bodyguard as well as her driver.

She then added that she already has a boyfriend in London.
