McDonald's is giving out Pokemon toys with Happy Meals from 15 Nov to 12 Dec
Fast food chain McDonald’s is feeding into the ongoing Pokemon craze with free giveaways of Pokemon toys for every purchase of a Happy Meal for the next four weeks!
The promotion currently applies to McDonald’s outlets in Singapore and Malaysia, but it seems like it will be rolled out to other countries in Asia too.
There are eight Pokemon toys in total, with two being available each week while stocks last, beginning from Thursday (15 November).
The Pokemon up for collection are: Pikachu, Totodile, Shiny Magikarp, Torchic, Psyduck, Meowth, Squirtle and Vulpix.
Note that different toys will be available each week in Singapore and Malaysia.
In Singapore, the toys available each week are:
15 – 21 Nov: Pikachu and Totodile
22 – 28 Nov: Shiny Magikarp and Torchic
29 Nov – 5 Dec: Psyduck and Meowth
6 – 12 Dec: Squirtle and Vulpix
In case you’re in Malaysia and feel like popping into a McDonald’s for the toys, here are the Pokemon available in Malaysia each week:
15 – 21 November: Squirtle and Torchic
22 – 28 November: Psyduck and Vulpix
29 November – 5 December: Shiny Magikarp and Meowth
6 – 12 December: Pikachu and Totodile
Each toy has movable parts that impart a special feature to the Pokemon (e.g. Pikachu wiggles its ears when you press its tail, and Squirtle really squirts water out of its mouth).
You can see each toy up close in this video:
McDonald’s isn’t heavily promoting these Pokemon toys, so you may have to enter restaurants to actually see the toys (maybe they’re afraid of the stampede that might occur à la the Hello Kitty craze). Even so, the toys may go out of stock quickly, so act fast if you want to get your hands on them!
