Maxx Coffee to shut doors in Jurong end May 2023

Maxx Coffee will be ending its run at Jem on 31 May 2023. Offering food and drink with a Singaporean twist, Maxx Coffee has been a beloved study and hang out spot for many during its time in the West.

With this, the West will also be losing one of its few halal-certified cafés in the area, so that’s something to take note of.

Maxx Coffee - Jem Promotion & Logo

Apart from the library and big café chains, Maxx Coffee was a place where lots of students spent hours mugging for their exams. For that, it holds fond memories for many in the area.  But it seems it’s time to hunt for a new hideout.

In farewell to the store, Maxx Coffee Jem is having a promotion — their Cruffins are going at 1-for-1 with any medium-sized beverage purchased.

Having passed by Maxx Coffee Jem countless times in the past and even having even spent hours on end there, I guess this is a sign to drop by one last time.

The chain has made it a point to come up with interesting and unique offerings — its Srikaya Cruffin (S$4.80) and Earl Grey Lavender Cake (S$7.50) weren’t something you would expect to find in cafés like this. Their Carbonara Pie (S$8.90) was also well-loved, and was much like a mac n cheese with a quiche-esque twist.

Maxx Coffee has always been a very chill and dependable hang out spot to rely on and it’s a shame to see another one go. Hopefully, their last remaining outlet at NUS is not the last we see of them.

That outlet will be closed until 7 Aug 2023 for the term vacation. From now to the end of the month, get your Maxx fix at Jem and be there or be square.
