Mat Yeung happy to be in the front at TVB lighting ceremony

19 Oct – For an actor like Mat Yeung, to be able to stand in the front row at the TVB lighting ceremony was like a dream come true.

As reported on HK01, the actor, who was positioned next to "Life on the Line" star Joe Ma at the event held to launch the 51st TVB Anniversary celebration, regarded his position on the stage to be a great encouragement.

"I started from the bottom, graduated from the artist training class. From being a presenter to standing all the way at the top to stepping down one row at a time, I can finally experience standing in the first row," he said, adding that his goal is to one day be the one doing the actual lighting ceremony.

Mat, who joined TVB in September 1998, also revealed that he recently received the letter from TVB telling him that he will be awarded with the gold medal to honour his 20-year service.

"I've waited a long time for this medal, so I have to thank TVB for the opportunities given to me for the past few years," he said, adding that hopes that he could keep on making progress and become an even better actor in the next 10 or 20 years.
