Mat Yeung admits business has been tough since the pandemic
12 Feb – Mat Yeung recently admitted that his restaurant business, STEW, has been quite affected by the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke to the media at the Hong Kong International Airport after returning from his vacation in Japan with girlfriend Lisa Ch'ng, stated that there are fewer people going out due to the pandemic, which means even fewer people are coming in to his three restaurants.
"First it was the protests and now this virus. Business has been quite tough, but thankfully it is still fine. Whether it is profitable is another matter," he said.
Mat stated that the restaurants are currently controlling its expenses and are relying on the support of their loyal customers to stay afloat.
Asked if he would ever close STEW if push comes to shove, Mat said that he has no plans to do so for the time being.
