Online courses are getting increasingly popular and it is an efficient way to discover new hobbies, and learn new skills and knowledge while curbing boredom.

Setting aside time for self-education can help boost your career chances while managing your anxiety as we continue to practice self-isolation at home with the increase in Covid cases.

As of this point of writing, many people are heading online to look for help and advice - according to BBC, 1.3 million people have signed up for ‘The Science of Well Being’, a free course from Yale University.

With ‘home learners’ eager to brush up their skills, most of the online learnings available have also diversified beyond university courses.

Users can also get access to their smartphone and TV apps with offline lessons, a newsletter and be able to engage with their community of users around the world.

The monthly membership is US$10 and there is a 30-day guarantee should you like to cancel anytime. However, there is a new year promotion going on right now at 40 per cent, and you only need to pay US$7 monthly to watch it online in Singapore and Malaysia.

Some of the most popular courses include gardening, creativity and leadership, filmmaking, acting, photography, scientific thinking and communication, conservation, producing and beatmaking.

Community activist Ron “Gangster Gardener” Finley started a movement when he first grew a garden on a curbside dirt strip. He was issued a warrant but he fought back, and got the laws changed. In his Masterclass, Finley will teach us how to grow your own food, keep our plants alive, and find beauty and freedom in gardening no matter the size of your space. Sign up here.
