MASDO nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards' Best Asia Act

10 Oct - Kugiran Masdo (aka MASDO) has been nominated to represent Malaysia in the Best Asia Act category at the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards.

The band, known for their 60s pop fusion sound in songs like "Dinda" and "Bunga", will be competing at the music awards on 11 November in Manchester, England.

Frontman Ali Sariah stated that the nomination is truly meaningful for them, but that they will not put too much hope on winning as they will be competing with other tough contenders.

"If we win, it will be a bonus for MASDO. But for now, there is no confirmation whether we will attend the event," he said.

MASDO will be competing against Indonesia's Mahalini, BINI from the Philippines, South Korea's ILLIT and Japan's idol group Sakurazaka46.

Winners will be chosen via voting, which has now opened through MTV EMA's official website.
