Martial arts actor Ji Chunhua passed away

16 Jul – Chinese martial arts actor and action choreographer Ji Chunhua (also known as Gai Chun Wah) has recently passed away.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor was revealed to have suffered from terminal lung cancer, which was discovered by the doctors three months before his passing.

Celebrities such as actor Vincent Zhao and Ken Ho, as well as filmmaker Tsui Siu Ming have taken to social media to express their sadness over their passing.

Tsui posted, "We have known each other for a very long time. I met him in the early '80s when he came to Hong Kong to promote "Shaolin Temple" with Jet Li. We saw each other again last year, though I never expected that it would be our last."

Ji has worked in a number of films over the years, with his earliest works consist of martial arts films starring Jet Li; including "Kids from Shaolin", "The New Legend of Shaolin", and "Fong Sai Yuk II".

He also starred in various television series, including the 2006 "Seven Swordsmen", and the 2014 drama, "Royal Tramp".

He was 56.
