Mark Kermode Names Entourage Worst Movie of 2015

Film critic Mark Kermode has declared TV spin-off ‘Entourage’ his least favourite movie to hit cinema screens in 2015.

Naming it number one in his end of year bottom ten list, Kermode says of the film from writer-director Doug Ellin, “there was no competition when it came to choosing my least favourite film of 2015.

‘Entourage,’ Kermode explains, centres on “a bunch of hateful, chauvinist, misogynist, talentless, wealthy bozos [who] are held up as heroes, and we’re meant to applaud like seals.

“If you want to live in a world in which the worst things about humanity are rewarded, then ‘Entourage’ is the movie for you.”

Kermode seems to have a history of not getting on with big screen spin-offs of popular TV shows, as he has previously gave ‘Sex and the City 2′ an infamously venomous review.

However, Kermode now says he “would rather watch ‘Sex and the City 2′ on a constant loop for all eternity whilst burning in the lowest ring of Hell” than see ‘Entourage’ again.

Kermode certainly isn’t alone among critics in his assessment, as ‘Entourage’ sits on a 32% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes - although this page also notes that the film scores 62% positive in their audience survey.

Not that ‘Entourage’ garnered much of an audience, grossing less than $50 million worldwide at the global box office this past summer.

The other films to make Kermode’s bottom ten of 2015 include ‘The Human Centipede 3,’ ‘Taken 3′ and ‘Mortdecai.’ See the full list at his BBC Blog page.
