Mark Chao and Yang Mi become friends after drama
30 Jan - Working together for the first time, Taiwanese actor Mark Chao stated that he is in awe with his co-star, Yang Mi and her talent as an actress.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who plays the lead in the new series, "Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" alongside the Chinese star, stated that his first impression of Yang was that the actress is a "pretty little girl".
"I have never been in contact with Yang Mi before, so that was my perception. But then, when filming started, she changed into this bold and strong goddess. I thought to myself, she really is an actress," he said.
Although the drama was their first collaboration ever, Mark admitted that the two of them quickly became good friends.
The actress previously shared that both she and Mark were able to communicate with each other since they have a similar sense of humour and could understand each other well.
On the other hand, Mark shared that the script originally calls for their characters to have a lot of intimate scenes.
"We're good friends now. But at the time, we were still unfamiliar with each other. So, we got nervous and shy. We tried it several times but couldn't make it work, so in the end, the director decided to cut the scenes," he said.
The upcoming series, which is set to premiere on 30 January, tells the story of two doomed lovers, Bai Qian and Ye Hua, who meet each other in three separate lifetimes.
