Is Marina Mahathir the apple of her father's eye?
For those who’ve been living under a rock, take note: Marina Mahathir has recently written a memoir about her dad and her. Titled The Apple and The Tree, the book highlights some of the biggest events that she’s shared with her famous father.
Despite what you might think, writing the book itself wasn’t the difficult part. For Mahathir, it was about remembering the events that took place. Thankfully, she says she has a journal for all the things she can’t fully remember. “Trying to remember the actual incidents, it’s not easy but somehow, I do remember specific things that have happened in my childhood,” she says in the video above.
Still, she hopes the book will shed light on her relationship with her father and give us all better insights into her childhood.
Being the eldest daughter of Malaysia’s former prime minister isn’t easy. “I often feel very insecure about my own abilities. And, I have imposter syndrome, which everyone is surprised at. But, I do, and there’s a reason for this,” she further shares above.
