Mariel de Leon is unfazed by criticisms

The beauty queen says that what doesn't kill her makes her stronger

15 Dec – Miss PH International Mariel de Leon recently stated that she doesn't care what people have to say about her and her controversial social media posts.

As reported on PEP, the beauty queen who has no brakes when it comes to making criticisms about politics (as she did with Mocha Uson and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte) said that she pays no attention to negative people.

"I don't care about the negative people. I accept support, I accept love, but with negativity, go away. I don't mind it anymore, I don't care about it anymore," she said, in her interview with Boy Abunda.

de Leon admitted that she has read and heard a lot of nasty things said about her, and that she is no longer affected by all of them.

"As they say, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. I am definitely stronger," she added.

She also doesn't believe that she did anything wrong at the Miss International pageant, after failing to maintain the crown that was previously won by Kylie Versoza.

"I don't think anything went wrong. It's more of, it really wasn't meant for me. I know I gave my all. I did my best. I did what I could do. I did what I had to do. It wasn't just my destiny," she said.
