Marian Rivera warns fans against fake Twitter account

The actress slams fake account for using her name to express political views

23 Aug - Fed-up with fake social media accounts using her name, Kapuso star Marian Rivera finally decided to make her feelings known after one of such accounts decided to go political using her name.

As reported on Inquirer, on 21 August, Rivera shared a screen-grab of a Twitter post that uses the name "Marian Rivera-Dantes" on Instagram, which criticised Duterte's administration on its war on drugs.

The fake Twitter post read, "[You] warned us there will be blood. So [if you may, just kill the 15 million who voted for you]. Because the rest of us didn't sign up for this."

To avoid being linked to the anti-Duterte criticism, Rivera posted that she is not the person behind the post and that she doesn't have a Twitter account.

"[...] I don't know who is behind this [and] I hope accounts like this will stop using other people's name," she added.

The said account had since been removed from Twitter following the backlash from Rivera's fans.
