Marian Rivera to star in "Encantadia" remake
17 Feb - It was reported that actress Marian Rivera will be returning to television soon with the remake of the hit 2005 fantasy series, "Encantadia".
As reported on PEP News, the actress will be playing Ynang Reyna Minea, the role originally played by Dawn Zulueta. Ynang Minea is a queen of the Diwata kingdom of Lireo, and the mother of main characters Amihan, Pirena, Alena and Danaya.
Rivera previously took a short hiatus from showbiz to give birth to her first daughter, Maria Letizia.
Other confirmed cast members of the remake include Klea Pineda and Migo Adecer, although a recent Instagram photo of Kylie Padilla, Glaiza de Castro, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia seemed to hint that the four of them will play the four Sang'gres, as they all wore dresses with colours representing each and every gemstones of Encantadia.
Previously, Sunshine Dizon, who played the role of Pirena in the original version, expressed her interest to join the remake.
"Encantadia" revolves around the four diwata royalties called Sang'gres - Pirena, who represents fire, Amihan, who represents air, Alena, who represents water, and Danaya, who represents earth.
