Margie Tsang slammed for old photo with Tony Leung
17 Feb – Margie Tsang found herself getting the backlash from netizens for sharing an old photo of her and ex-boyfriend Tony Leung Chiu Wai.
On Valentine's Day, the actress took to Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu and posted an old photo of her with the "Where the Wind Blows" star, writing, "Today, on this special day, I will show you my first love."
"Seeing his achievements today, I am really happy for him," she added.
However, instead of receiving positive comments from netizens, the actress found herself criticised for being inappropriate, with many saying that Margie has yet to move on from her past relationship and that it would not be proper seeing that Tony is happily married to Carina Lau.
Margie then fought back, saying that netizens thought too much about such a simple post.
Margie is known to be Tony Leung's first girlfriend, having dated 1982 to 1988 back when they were part of the TVB Training Academy. Tony later tied the knot with actress Carina Lau.
On the other hand, Margie married businessman Stephen Lam in London in 1996, though the marriage ended in 2002.
