Mango TV show apologises for misuse of celeb images
15 May – Mango TV's reality show, "The Chamber of Secrets Escape" has recently released a statement of apology for the illegal use of celebrities' images in one of its episodes.
As reported on Mingpao, the issue sparked after netizens spotted the use of photos of Japanese and South Korean artistes as part of the eight supposed deceased victims in the latest episode of the Mango TV show.
The photos include Japanese singer-actor Ohno Satoshi, "Death Note" actress Erika Toda, model Kiko Mizuhara, Korean actress Son Ye-jin, and Girls' Generation's Seohyun.
After much criticism from netizens, the show's programme director recently apologised for the misuse, and clarified that the photo was created using an intelligent software that randomly finds and synthesizes photos and materials on the internet.
He then stated that they have no malicious intention in using images of the artistes and that the episode will be re-edited soon.
