Malaysian singer Jay Jay passed away at 63
5 Aug- Malaysian singer Jay Jay has recently passed away.
The performer and former vocalist of '80s band Carefree breathed his last at the Thompson Hospital on 4 August around 9.30 pm, according to a friend.
Prior to his passing, it was revealed that Jay Jay, real name Mohd Fauzi Darus, had undergone bypass surgery due to blocked arteries at the National Heart Institute back in May.
However, following the surgery, the singer was revealed to have suffered from a stroke and had to undergo physiotherapy at a medical centre in Petaling Jaya.
Jay Jay was known for many hit songs including "Rindu Bayangan", "Joget Angan Tak Sudah", as well as his duet songs like "Kita Insan Biasa" with Dayangku Intan and "Senandung Hidup Berbudi" with Datuk Ramli Sarip.
He was 67.
