Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Transforms Quilted Purses Into High Heeled Shoes for Fall 2025 Fashion Show in Paris
During the Paris Fashion Week shows dedicated to the menswear collections, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro presented a variety of new shoes. In addition to the company’s sneaker line General Scale — which included a new style named the Oliver via collaboration with Autry — the brand offered up a heel that took its cues from handbags.
Spotted on multiple models, the shoe is based on the shape of a quilted flap bag. Most associated with the brand Chanel, this bag in particular is made of leather and features quilting as well as a golden chain and a pronounced flap. This composes the upper of the shoe, which makes it into bootie height.

Going the opposite direction, Sean McGirr’s debut collection for Alexander McQueen, shown in early 2024 ,was the center of discourse partially for its bag-encased heels. Those have been worn by FKA Twigs in her “Perfect Stranger” music video. The new styles from Yasuhiro offer a new option.
The label started as a shoe brand in 1997 with founder Mihara aiming to think outside of the box and to bring enjoyment to shoppers via the playful themes of collections,
