Once the temperature drops below 60 degrees, I start looking for the perfect jacket. My go-to has always been a classic biker-style faux leather jacket, but the one I have been wearing for years is starting to fall apart. Now that I’m retiring it and have begun my search for its replacement, someone I’m taking inspiration from for my outerwear pursuits is supermodel Elsa Hosk.
Hosk has been spotted wearing various leather bomber jacket styles on several occasions, dressing them up with everything from maxi skirts and Mary Jane heels to casual jeans and loafers. And she’s not the only one opting for the bomber style: Vanessa Hudgens and Gigi Hadid have also worn the fall jacket staple. After feeling inspired by Hosk, Hudgens, and Hadid, I decided to round up some of my favorite faux leather bomber jackets on the market right now. When I think of the perfect fall jacket, House of Cb’s Larissa Oversize Faux Leather Bomber Jacket comes to mind. It’s perfectly oversized so that it can be layered over heavier sweaters and sweatshirts, and it comes in a classic black that will go with just about everything in my wardrobe. I feel like this style most closely resembles the one Hudgens was wearing last month without the steep price tag.
Available in sizes S through XL, the jacket has a zipper down the front for easy on and off, and there’s elastic at the waist and cuffs for a close fit. There are deep pockets on either side of the jacket, and it’s fully lined, so it can be worn in cooler weather.

I’m definitely leaning towards full-length bomber jackets like the House of Cb style or this option from The Drop for when temps hit 40 degrees or below. But during the more transitional 60- and 50-degree weather, I'm going to follow behind Hosk and opt for a cropped fit like this Topshop Faux Leather Bomber Jacket. It comes in a fall-forward brown shade and sizes XS through L. The jacket hits a few inches below the waist, but the bottom elastic allows for a fuller, more cropped fit when zipped. The jacket features full sleeves and internal lining to keep cold air out.
