SINGAPORE – With travel borders still in place for most countries in Asia, most of us have been fulfilling our wanderlust with booking staycations close to home.
New travel player HoteLux aims to satisfy travellers' growing desire by offering a one-stop membership-based service through its luxury reservation app, that connects with luxury hotels such as Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, Four Seasons and Conrad Centennial in Singapore.
What makes this app interesting is that travellers can even earn points through loyalty programmes like Marriott Bonvoy along with HoteLux points, says Shi Yihao, managing director of HoteLux.
"By launching HoteLux, we aim to provide our members with a comprehensive solution to enhance their luxury hotel experience, as the newly launched app also delivers beyond the expected hotel loyalty programme schemes, by rewarding their members with experiences that are incomparable to any other," Shi says.
Shi told Yahoo Lifestyle SEA that the app is the first of its kind in Singapore as most travel agents operate from a WhatsApp messaging basis: "The other competitors are probably approaching it in a more of informal WhatsApp kind of style. Building an app and a system takes a lot of investment. So yeah, we want to pave the way to be first in the market."
For an annual membership fee of S$149, some of the benefits you can enjoy are daily breakfast, up to US$100 in hotel dining or spa credits per stay, and complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability).
On growth expansion and exploring international markets, Shi said that the company intends to expand to Indonesia, Australia, Thailand and Vietnam in the coming years once travel restrictions ease.
