Hong Kong’s TVB artiste Nancy Sit was there to grace the store opening. With her infectious bubbly personality, she lightened the mood and gave everyone much laughter. Many of her middle-aged fans came in droves to see her. Before the traditional lion dance performance and ribbon-cutting session, she said that back in 1996, her friend bought her a golden bowl from Lukfook and from then on, she earned her “first bucket of gold”, emanating a roar of laughter from the audience.

“So from then on I thought, if I want to buy something for my friend, I would go to Lukfook.”, said Nancy Sit.

She shared that she became a grandmother last year as her daughter-in-law gave birth. She expressed that Lukfook is “where you should go to buy pieces to celebrate the birth of your grandchildren”.

Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore experienced first-hand the lavish shopping experience in the store. We were greeted by the interior of the store which is furnished in a soft champagne gold tone to create a spacious feeling. At the door, their signature gold collection welcomes the customer into the store and as you walk further in, you will reach their Goldstyle collection which is a range of glamourous gold jewellery with enhanced hardness that makes it twice as hard as ordinary gold jewellery.

Intricately crafted into shapes of lotus leaves, peach blossoms and golden candies, this collection features traditional Chinese elements that signify luck and prosperity.

Near the Goldstyle collection is the lounge area which allows the customer to have some leisure time on the circular plushy sofa where they can rest their tired feet after shopping for the whole day.

As you make your rounds around the store, you will arrive at the Love Forever collection which is endorsed by Hong Kong actor Raymond Lam. For the latest Love Forever design, a plain barcode is engraved on 18K gold jewellery, holding a meaning that only the couple is privy to. The series offers a wide selection of diamond pendants, charms and rings with the unique barcode motif.

Other notable collections are the Love is Beauty and Beloved collections. The former fuses heart-shaped elements in 18k gold diamond jewellery while the latter integrates traditional Chinese culture into its designs, such as the characters for “double happiness”, dragon and phoenix motifs and gold pigs which symbolise good luck for the couple entering marital bliss.
