Love Island’s Zara Holland ‘Refused Permission’ To Appear On ‘Ex On The Beach’ By Miss GB Organisers

It’s been revealed that Love Island 2016 contestant, Zara Holland, was banned from entering MTV’s Ex On The Beach by Miss Great Britain organisers.

The former Miss GB winner was stripped of her crown after she slept with Alex Bowen on TV in the Love Island villa, with thousands of viewers since calling for her title to be reinstated.

In a statement regarding their decision to take away her crown, Miss GB organisers said: “The feedback we have received from pageant insiders and members of the general public is such that we cannot promote Zara as a positive role model moving forward.

“We wholly understand that everyone makes mistakes, but Zara, as an ambassador for Miss Great Britain, simply did not uphold the responsibility expected of the title.”

Now, speaking about not letting her take part in the MTV ex-based show, a spokesperson from the Miss GB organisation told Digital Spy: “In January, Zara approached us about taking part in Ex on the Beach, which our National Director refused to give her permission for.

“We explained that we felt the premise of the show was more about sex and not something we wanted her or the brand associated with. Zara was very unhappy with our decision and we spent days going backwards and forwards.”

Organisers also denied Zara’s claims that she wasn’t told she couldn’t have sex on Love Island, telling the site: “We allowed Zara to take part in the show on the condition that she didn’t have sex – she knows she cannot do anything to bring the competition into disrepute.”
