Louis Koo reunite "A Step into the Past" cast for adaptation
22 Mar – It was a happy reunion for the original cast of "A Step into the Past", who recently appeared at the Hong Kong FILMART to promote their upcoming film adaptation, "Back to the Past".
As reported on Mingpao, the 2001 TVB series team - which include Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, and Michelle Saram - recently revealed that they are joining lead stars Louis Koo, Raymond Lam and Jessica Hsuan in the new movie.
Said Sonija, who plays female scholar Kam Ching in the series, ""A Step into the Past" was very important to me because it was my first drama. I want to thank the boss [Louis Koo] for enabling me to be a part of the film version."
As for Joyce, who played the role of female assassin Sin Yau in the original; the actress stated that her character would have a lot of action scenes in the movie.
Jessica and Michelle, who played Wu Ting Fong and Princess Chiu Sin in the original, were more than happy to reunite with each other after so long.
"I keep reminiscing about the time we were filming the series, how I would take Michelle home every single day because she didn't live in Hong Kong at the time. I couldn't help but smile when I see everybody," she said.
"It's a rare opportunity to meet up and catch up with everyone," Michelle added.
On the other hand, when asked why he decided to cast the original players, Louis said that he didn't plan it that way initially, but that he felt it could be a better show with everyone coming back together.
