Louis Koo establishes HKPAG charity fund for the needy

8 Apr – Louis Koo proves himself a formidable president after all, after he successfully established the first charity foundation ever for the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild (HKPAG).

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who has been presiding the guild since taking over the seat from Jackie Chan, shared that the organisation was finally able to obtain its charity license from the government to officially launch the fund and use it to help veteran actors and those in need.

"I think it's more meaningful to hold a charity event this year since we have received the license. The greater the power, the greater responsibility that we have to do our best to give back to society," he said.

When asked how much money that the guild has made through the event, Louis responded, "It was ideal, based on the support of our friends and film companies. I hope that we will be able to help more people through HKPAG."

Among stars who attended the event include Sammi Cheng, Joey Yung, Andy Lau, Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang and Samantha Ko.
