Louis Koo: I am bad at fight scenes!

16 Mar - Louis Koo admitted that his movie, "Paradox" poses a new challenge for him as an actor, and the only reason was because he has to perform his own fight scenes.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who spoke to the media at the Hong Kong FILMART to promote the new Wilson Yip movie, stated that it was his first time performing his own fight scenes, which he confessed was extra hard for a man who doesn't have a martial arts background like him.

When asked about his experience working with action choreographer Sammo Hung for the movie, Louis stated, "Big Brother [Sammo] designed all the action sequences. He shot a ten-minute clip of the scenes and even added a soundtrack. I was really worried after watching the clips and was afraid that I would not be able to do all those scenes."

Louis admitted that he was so bad at it, he had to rehearse for a long time just to shoot a short fight sequence.

However, Sammo denied that Louis was as bad as he described, saying that the actor was able to perform better and better after several tries.

"In the end, it felt like I was watching a martial arts star who has been working for a decade!," he said.

Sammo stated that Louis was so dedicated to his fight scenes that he injured his hand during a knife fight.

"My injury is not that big of a deal. Compared to [Thai co-star] Tony Jaa's head injury, my cut was nothing," Louis chimed in.

"Paradox" stars Louis as a police negotiator who travels to Bangkok in search of his missing teenage daughter. The movie co-stars Tony Jaa, Wu Yue, and Chris Collins.
