Lorraine Kelly has been off sick from her titular show this week, after testing positive for Covid. Sharing a picture of family dogs Ruby and Angus, Lorraine captioned her post: “The dreaded Covid has finally caught up with me. I am so thankful to the scientists who developed the vaccine!”

As Lorraine rests up at home, she is clearly reflecting on happy times, sharing a lovely photograph of herself and Her Majesty the Queen yesterday. Wearing a royal blue pencil dress, fit for the occasion, and cerise pink fascinator, Lorraine is being honoured with an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen. Captioning the image, Lorraine said: "THiS popped up on my timeline from TEN years ago and cheered me up. Still #covid positive but feeling a lot better. Can’t believe it was decade ago I was honoured by The Queen"

In the picture, Her Majesty can be seen in a bright yellow dress, accessorised with a pearl necklace and beautiful earrings.

A British order of chivalry, Lorraine was appointed with an OBE in 2012 for her services to charity and the armed forces, before being promoted with a CBE in 2020, for her services to broadcasting, journalism, and charity.

Lorraine has received many other awards and honours, including an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Dundee, a special Scottish BAFTA honouring her 30-year long television career, and since 2009 has been an Honorary Colonel in the Black Watch battalion Army Cadet Force.

Back in 2012, on the day she was awarded her CBE, Lorraine hosted a live broadcast of her show outside Holyrood Palace, looking elated due to the events of the day.
